Jakub
Bujas
Director and screenwriter. He grew up in Warsaw in the 1990s – and the urban energy, contrasts, and rawness of that era still resonate in his commercial and artistic projects, giving them a distinctive intensity and authenticity. He began his journey with film at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied editing. After years in the profession and collaborating with cinematographers he met along the way, he began to fully explore his creative potential by directing music videos and, over time, comprehensive fashion campaigns. His work as a director has intertwined with copywriting and art direction, which to this day allows Kuba to actively collaborate and support agency work whenever needed.
His directorial debut in advertising in 2017 was awarded by the Polish Advertising Creators Club (KTR). Since then, he has co-created projects for brands such as Allegro, Huawei, ING, McDonald’s, and PKO BP, as well as directed films for Pepsi, Lipton, mBank, Alior Bank, Desperados, Decathlon, and T-Mobile.
He is the screenwriter of many of his commercials and campaigns – including House, “Weź mnie posegreguj,” and PFN – as well as music videos for leading artists of the Polish music scene, including PRO8L3M, Szczyl, Syny, Włodi, Rosalie., 1988, and JWP, all of which he also directed.
Three of his productions were included in the list of the 30 best music videos in the history of Polish rap, according to Newonce.
Kuba believes that the process – both creative and production – and executing it with quality is what matters most. Given his role, he prioritizes taking care of the people he collaborates with. Story is key for him, which is why in his personal work he continues to develop as a narrative film director and screenwriter, with upcoming projects set to be released in the near future.
