Julia Filińska

Julia Filinska is a Warsaw-based production designer and scenographer whose passion for visual storytelling began in childhood. Growing up immersed in theatre workshops at Teatr Ochoty and constantly creating imagined worlds through drawing and art, she discovered early on the power of space and atmosphere in storytelling.

She graduated from the Faculty of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2019, with her diploma project selected for Coming Out –  the exhibition showcasing the best graduate projects of the Academy. Since then, she has worked across theatre, film, TV series, music videos and commercial productions, designing immersive spaces where architecture, colour and detail become an essential part of the narrative.

Julia believes that every element visible on screen or stage contributes to telling a character’s story – from the overall composition to the smallest detail. For her, space itself can tell a story without the use of words.

She has collaborated with brands including MasterCard, Knorr, Smyk, Milka, Max Factor, Allegro, Heinz, FilmBox, Netflix, eobuwie and Modivo. She also worked as 2nd production designer on major feature film productions such as Lalka, Rozwodnicy and Kogel Mogel.

Productions featuring her scenography have been presented and awarded at numerous festivals in Poland and internationally, including Camerimage, Forum Młodej Reżyserii in Kraków and the Talia Comedy Festival.
