Konrad
Bloch
A cinematographer whose work on the Oscar-nominated short film “The Dress” (dir. Tadeusz Łysiak) received international recognition. His achievements include the Bronze Tadpole at the Energa Camerimage Festival, the award for Best Cinematography at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, as well as accolades at festivals in Sulmona and Valencia. He was also nominated for the Golden Tadpole for his cinematography on the film “Techno.”
A graduate and lecturer at the Warsaw Film School, where he teaches classes in film optics. Guided by visual sensitivity and intuition, Konrad’s work balances technical precision with human empathy. He values close collaboration with actors, which is why he often chooses to operate the camera himself.
As a cinematographer, he moves fluidly between raw naturalism, influenced by his documentary background, and more unconventional forms of storytelling. Regardless of the scale of the project, he always places form in direct service of the narrative. His most recent feature project is the experimental musical about Quebonafide, “North/South” (dir. Sebastian Pańczyk), where he worked as 2nd Unit DP.
He’s equally at home in the world of music videos, creating visual worlds for leading artists such as Mata, Quebonafide, Mrozu, Julia Wieniawa, PLK, and Kukon. His commercial portfolio includes campaigns for brands such as McDonald’s, Ikea, 4F, Żabka, HBO, Vogue and Johnnie Walker.
